Dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes (sandals and shoes with high heels not recommended), as our Gardens are a walking experience.
CHAIRS
No outside chairs permitted.
DRESS
Costumes/costume accessories of any type are not permitted.
Clothing that is deemed inappropriate by the general public is not permitted (including excessively revealing clothing, clothing with profanity, objectionable language or graphics).
FOOD & DRINK
Food is available for purchase in the Arbor Café.
No outside food or drinks, except water, are permitted. All bags, backpacks and any carrying device are subject to search at the Gardens’ discretion prior to entry. Any prohibited items must be returned to your vehicle.
There are two picnic tables, first-come, first-serve, available at the west end of Parking Lot #3 where outside food may be enjoyed.
Picnicking in the Gardens, tailgating in any parking lot or lawns adjacent to parking areas is not permitted.
GROUP VISITS
Self-guided group visits (10 or more people) can be arranged by calling 770-893-1880 for information.
Please call in advance of your visit as there are rules that must be followed.
Regarding service dogs NOTE: As of January 1, 2019, service “dogs whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the Americans with Disabilities Act” and will not be permitted to enter the Gardens.
Please bring a plastic bag to clean up after your service dog.
Retractable (clothesline) leashes are not permitted.
All leashes must be of a sturdy material (e.g., leather) and only allow for a short lead from the dog’s handler.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Staged photography or photo shoots is strictly prohibited, whether amateur or professional.
Examples include engagement, wedding, maternity and senior class photos as well as modeling shots that involve posing and/or changes of clothing in restrooms.
Mono-pods and tripods are welcome as you snap photos while strolling the Gardens.
Professional photography equipment, such as reflectors, are not permitted.
PLEIN AIR PAINTING
Plein air painting in the Gardens is prohibited.
RESTROOMS
Restrooms available in the Welcome Center and Manor House Pool Cabana.
TOURING THE GARDENS
Manor House Gardens — Allow 1 ½ hours to enjoy seasonal floral displays such as the Daffodil, Azalea, Rhododendron and Hydrangea Gardens, the Rose Arbor, the Woodland Shade Gardens and Nature Canopy Walk.
Valley Gardens — Allow 1 ½ hours to tourthe display gardens of the Japanese Gardens, Monet Waterlily Gardens, Grandchildren’s Sculpture Gardens, Rose Gardens, The Fern Dell, The Pleasance and Daylily Gardens.
Inspiration Gardens — Due to the steep natural terrain of this garden,all wheeled transportation (wheelchairs, electric scooters, baby strollers, wagons) areprohibited entry.The garden may be viewed outside from above on the Manor House Rd.
UBER & LYFT
These transportation companies will transport you to the Gardens, but will usually not return to pick you up.
There are NO Uber or Lyft drivers that operate in proximity to the Gardens.
Please ensure that you have confirmed transportation in advance from the Gardens following your visit.
WHEELCHAIRS, SCOOTERS, GOLF CARTS
We do not provide or rent wheelchairs, scooters or golf carts.
The following are strictly prohibited in our Gardens:
Smoking of any type, including e-cigarettes, vaping devices or illegal substances, are prohibited in the Gardens, buildings and parking lots.
Firearms of any type, or items that look like weapons. Having a carry license does NOT exclude you from prohibition as Gibbs Gardens is private property. Discovery of a firearm on your person will result in automatic expulsion from the property with no admission refunds.
Climbing trees or sculptures. Picking plants and flowers. Entering fountains, swimming pool, creeks, ponds.
Drones.
Balloons including balloon letters/numbers, signs and any props.
Ceremonies (wedding, proposals, religious or disbursement of ashes).
Musical instruments, radios or music players with external speakers.
Using mobile phone with external speaker in “on” position.
